Hiya!
You probably don't know me, but I'm a fellow member of the

our_icons community. Back a little while ago, our mod had to stop running the weekly-ish contests & since then things have started to die off. Currently, I'm trying to resuscitate it, so I thought I'd drop by all our members' LJs to let them know what's going on.
Right now, we've got a post where we're soliciting suggestions for contest themes (http://community.livejournal.com/our_icons/455053.html). Hopefully, we'll get a decent amount of ideas submitted & we'll be able to start contesting by the end of next week.

I am still learning my way around and have gone through so many singles or networking sites that each new one throws me because it is nothing like the last ones!

I love your profile picture/avatar. Is that your son? How did you do that? I am assuming that the pictures are from a photo booth like you find at the Boardwalk, but how did you trail them all together to create the video. It is very cool.

Anyway, if I have offended you I am sorry, it was not my intent!

I used Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro to animate the pictures, and actually they were taken with my phone (and then I emailed them to myself).

I'm not really all that good with the graphic design stuff, but sometimes I surprise myself!

Not good??? Are you crazy, your avatar is excellent!! I think it is absolutely amazing! I worked at a graphic design house very briefly and saw some of the stuff they were putting out and am constantly amazed at what the human mind can come up with! I hope you keep playing and are willing to share what you come up with!

It's Christine. I saw your comment on my blog. It's great to hear from you. I can't wait to see what your up to. I only hear things your mom told my mom. Anyway, I hope you'll let me be your friend.

It is good to hear from you. Christine got me into the blogging thing is that how you found me? Anyway I am kind of new at it and things are so busy with a wife, three kids, two dogs, two jobs and a house. I looked back on my blog and it is crazy how much I change from one month to the next. I noticed how bored I was in Afghanistan the blog novelty hadn't worn off yet. I know we probably don't agree politically on much but we are close enough that it does not matter. Speaking of Politics who are you thinking about supporting? I like Obama on the Democrat side and Romney on the Republican side. Pretty interesting race for the nominations though, even if one does sicken from the politics. Kids don't play at the creek anymore huh? I think we may have been the last generation of children to enjoy the outdoors before video games came out.
