So yes... We got a kitten for Andrew's birthday. We found him at the fourth adoption fair we visited. We had applied to adopt a kitten at the second place we went, but they acted like there was a waiting list and we'd need to be reviewed, etc. Whatever! The first one we went to didn't have any actual cats, just pictures of cats, and there were no young cats. The third place we went had a few cats but none we clicked with. So yeah, at the fourth place there were several just *lovely* cats including little Mowgli. We actually liked two other ones too but we all fell for Mowgli. Really, he kind of adopted us. He sat on my chest the whole time I was filling out the adoption contract and paying (by Paypal on my phone! yay technology!). He is super mellow and passive. He can lie on a person for hours. Super sweet. Right now he is up in the boys' room acclimating because this move to a new home (he was being fostered by the lady we adopted him from, who was representing a rescue organization) has been a bit traumatic. The lady figured he'd be used to us in a day or two. He has met Smokie and she's frankly indifferent to him, which is better than I expected because I was afraid she'd be hostile. He's a little afraid of her which means they'll probably stay out of each others' way. He's 3-1/2 months old, neutered and has had all of his shots. Hopefully this is the beginning of a long friendship. :)
